Helldivers 2 players with ps4 controller8/30/2023 To me, it feels quite awkward while a controller feels very natural, but everyone likes what they like. Me personally, I'm a controller user all the way. I think the throwing is the only difference you between the two that you can't do anything about (aside from trivial things, like how you move on the loadout screen). I talked about this in greater depth in a recent post, so I'll let you check that out if you're interested (you can also look at the thread's gif to get an example of what kb/m can do).Īfter that. They both have advantages and disadvantages if you account for personal preference (such as how it feels, etc.), but there's only one thing that's inherently different and that's the throwing mechanics. I simply never tried using m/kb after initially selecting a controller for whatever that's worth. IMO, YMMV, YOLO FAM.Įdit: I'm primarily a PC player, and chose a controller because it seemed more appropriate, so my opinion is not biased by not having access to a mouse and keyboard. So those are my thoughts, minor accuracy advantage to m/kb (not as significant as in an fps) and minor movement or perhaps movement response advantage to controller. He said he couldn't see himself using a controller due to lower accuracy compared to m/kb, and I said that my feeling was that movement in this type of game is probably a lot more natural with a controller.Įven assuming that we are both sort of right, it's still a very subjective experience, and also I don't think it's a major difference, just a minor one. That being said, I always played Helldivers with a controller, and had this conversation with a guy that uses m/kb. I think this is very much a YMMV sort of thing, and it's going to be different for most players. Join over 2,000 other Helldivers in our Discord! While we won't ban negative comments and so forth, if you have a repeated history of making caustic remarks for the sole purpose of being confrontational, we won't hesitate to ban - regardless of how monolithic you think you are in the community. We're not enforcing this rule as a form of censorship, we're enforcing this because subreddits tend to get lots of new players, and the last thing we as a community should do is make people tuck tail and run. Clearly jokes and stuff are fine, but if you're harassing someone, that's not cool. Other than that, have fun, and be excellent to each other!
